New South Wales Truck Road Agency Fleet

Another new fleet of Romaquip Ultima II Gritters are rolling of the production line weekly on their way to the South Wales Trunk Road Agent (SWTRA).

A total of 27 new Romaquip Ultima II gritting vehicles will be delivered to SWTRA this year, 19 of which have already been dispatched and will add to their current fleet of 13 Romaquip gritters which were delivered in 2020 & 2021.

This new batch of 27 vehicles are all mounted Volvo Trucks FMX 6x6 chassis and come complete with Romaquip’s high spec, full combination spreader c/w heavy duty motorway snow plough. Designed to be the most cost effective and reliable full combination unit available, and as the gritters are built to such a high spec they will future proof the spreading capabilities of SWTRA for years to come.

All the gritters are packed full of new features and will improve driver safety due to the new automated spreading technology and enhanced visibility. The latest Romaquip designed & tested innovations and safety features are also fitted as standard, including the rear chevron board c/w aerodynamic movers which has been designed & fully tested by Romaquip and allows for the safe & accurate spreading at speeds up-to 80kph.

The new fleet which are a mixture of pre-wet and full combi+ vehicles and can be seen in operation keeping the motorways moving and free of ice and snow in Wales.
