Conwy New Electric Kerb-Sort
What a day last week in Colwyn Bay... the sun was shining on the day Conwy County Borough Council received the first of a new fleet of Romaquip Ltd. RQ-E Kerb-Sort Recycling Vehicles.
The Romaquip team including Stephen McKeown & Matt Patanden were in Conwy Borough Council to hand over the keys to the first fully electric Kerb-Sort, the RQ-E, to go into full operation on collection routes. When fully completed the Conwy fleet will consist of seven fully electric RQ-E vehicles.
Based on a DAF LF, and fully electrified in-house by Romaquip, the new RQ-E vehicles have numerous configuration types which all retain the high-quality build associated with Romaquip. The vehicles provide the complete green solution which will ensure Conwy County Borough Council will easily achieve their Road to Zero carbon goals with the same efficiency and without compromising any of their collection methods to the public.
Road trials prior to delivery proved that the RQ-E can travel up to 100 miles between charges based on 180kwh. The RQ-E is going to revolutionise the Kerb-Side collection method and we expect our vehicles will be seen all over the UK in the not-too-distant future.
We are vey proud and honored that Conwy County Borough Council decided to continue our long-standing working partnership to help them become the first local authority in the world to run a full fleet of electric Kerb-Side recycling vehicles.
