Engineering Students - Birr Community College

Last week on a beautiful summers day Romaquip Ltd. were delighted to host engineering students & teachers from St. Brendan’s Community School Birr.

The tour provided an opportunity for the students and teachers to see first-hand some of the exciting design and engineering developments which we are currently working on.

During the visit they got a full guided tour of our state-of-the-art production and manufacturing plant where key members of our assembly and fabrication staff demonstrated our laser machine, bending presses, turning centres, CNC programming and stainless-steel welding processes and procedures.

The tour finished with a demonstration of our latest Kerb-Sort recycling vehicle. The students along with their teachers were shown the precision engineering required to build such a high-quality recycling vehicle which has been the industry’s market leader since 2011.

We are looking forward to continuing our relationship with our local community school over the coming years, including the sponsorship of the annual award for Junior Cycle engineering student of the year.
